Just another blue one?

Ornate Bluet - Coenagrion ornatum

In the same folder as the Sedgeling-movies I also found a bit of Ornate Bluet movies. As this is also a species which doesn’t occur in the Netherlands, I thought it would also be nice to show this one. In contrast to the Sedgeling, who needs a very specific habitat which hardly occurs in the Netherlands, the Ornate Bluet is less critical. It needs sunny, chalk-rich streams, which can be found in farmlands. We found it in Germany, not too far from the Dutch border and this could be a species that could (re-)colonize the Netherlands. So, who knows, with a little luck sometime?
