flying fish

Since last trip fly fishing has a completely different meaning. I won’t think any longer of those people in waders in Canadian streams. Instead I’ll think of the many fish we saw taking off from the water. Apparently they saw our ship as a threat and they tried to escape by spreading their fins, slap their tail fin a few times and get airborne. Some only made it to the next wave, but others really took off sailing tens of meters next to the ship. Few unfortunate ones came high enough to make it on the ship… We regularly found them in the morning on the lower decks.
