The past month I sailed on the sv Noorderlicht (Dutch for Northern Lights). One of the images I really wanted to make was a picture with the Noorderlicht with the Aurora in the background. Easier said as done, as often bright lights were illuminating the ship, creating a completely over exposed ship if I wanted to use the long shutter speed needed to capture the Aurora. This night, in Lødingen, all came together. Not too much light in the foreground, a nice place next to the name of the ship where I could place my camera and of course some nice Auroral displays in the sky. It’s always nice if you manage to capture a picture that is in your mind for a while already.
Thank you for this photo and the relatid memories, Kathrin
