A safe haven
Penguins, like these Chinstraps, are at home on the ice and at sea. They are really made for life at sea. Streamlined, wings turned into flippers and a nice layer of fat, they are perfectly shaped to swim quickly and catch prey under water. However, every now and then they like to take a bit of rest from their marine life. A passing iceberg might be just the right place to do so. Porpoising out of the water with enough speed to propel themselves out of the water, they manage get on big icebergs like these penguins did. Here they stand, rest, lay down or socialise for a while until it’s time to get back into the water.
