Autumn on the tundra
In the high Arctic summer is really short. In fact the growing season for plants may only be 30-60 days. Even mid-august the first signs of autumn are visible. The trees start to turn yellow and orange. Trees in this case aren’t as big as the ones we have at home, most of them don’t grow any taller as 1 cm and are often overgrown by grass or other plants. In this case you can still see the female catkins and the seeds that are waiting to be blown away, while the leaves are turning already.
