On Spitsbergen the sun doesn’t set during summer. But this doesn’t mean there can be really nice colours. The sun is never really high in the sky and will be fairly low above the horizon especially during the evening and night. This means that if there is sun, at night you can have really nice light. As we did this evening. A bit of fog to temper the light of the sun, a flat calm sea and some Northern Fulmars to photograph. No close ups this time, but some more distant shots with lots of water. Fulmars always need some sort of runway before they can take off, just like this one, resulting in a nice line in the calm water.
