Special Gestapo and SS prison in Sachsenhausen

In Sachsenhausen around 200.000 prisoners were kept between 1936 and 1945. Among them were Jews, Roma and Sinti but also Russian prisoners of war and other enemies of the state. For the last group there was a special barrack with separate prisons for special prisoners of the Gestapo and the SS. The conditions were even more spartan as in the normal barracks with just a mattress on the floor and the windows closed.
