Four-spotted Chaser

This has probably been the longest time between posts since I started this blog… The past month I’ve hardly taken any pictures, well at least no nature pictures, and I’ve been busy with school work a lot. Correcting exams, preparing classes, meetings and several photo assignments, but hardly any time to take pictures for myself. Today I had time enough (before the second most important soccer game this year), however, the rain was pouring down all day.

This meant I had time enough to work on my new photo-database. New photo database? Yes, even though I’m still quite happy with Apple’s Aperture (even though an update would be welcome), I’m switching back to Adobes Lightroom. Why? Well, Apple decided to stop developing Aperture and will merge it with iPhoto into the new Photo’s app. As I sincerely doubt this will be an upgrade for Aperture users, I decided to change back to Lightroom. Unfortunately this means that I have to rebuilt my whole database with 30.000 images. This will cost a lot of time, however this also gives the advantage that I can start all over with my database structure and make it even better. It was nice to have some time to do so today, as I’m about to leave for Spitsbergen where I’ll hopefully take lots of pictures that will fill this database again.

The picture is one I took during a dragonfly photography workshop in early June. This Four-spotted Chaser was a really good photo model, allowing us to take pictures from all angles.

  1. Prachtig dat accent op de ‘scherp gesneden’ vleugels. Helaas dat helwitte ©….. doet afbreuk aan deze foto, mag het ietsje minder.
