Fin Whales in black and white

Now I’m back home and teaching again, I spent my evenings selecting and editing pictures. Last week I bought a set of plugins for Aperture from Nik photography. This is a set of plugins for sharpening, photo editing, black and white conversion and more. It’s always nice to play with new editing tools and see if you can do more with a picture. One of the plugins is called Silver Efex Pro, a plugin for black and white conversions. I’ve never done any black and white photography, but the results can be quite stunning. I’ve shown you above picture before in colour, but I thought: Lets give it a try in black and white. And to me the results are quite spectacular. More dramatic mountains and the blows also stick out more.

Let me know what you think of this version.
