Landscape photography often seems an easy part of nature photography. The landscape is always there, it doesn’t move, you don’t need big lenses, so it should be easy to take good pictures, even if you’ve just started with nature photography. However, these first pictures are often somewhat disappointing. “It was a lot nicer in reality” is an often heard comment. For Dutch photographers who want to learn more about this branch of photography, a book was published yesterday: “het Praktijkboek Landschapsfotografie”. In this book several landscape photographers give practical advice about how to make better pictures. I’m quite proud as I’ve written one chapter in the book and two of my pictures are published in it. It is for sale in the Birdpix/Nederpix-webshop.

I took this picture in Iceland, near our cottage. By placing some seaweed in the foreground, I’ve created some depth in the picture.
