Some things are hard to capture in a photo and are things that you really have to experience yourself. The iceberg zodiac cruise near Røde Ø is one of those experiences… Imagine, a small zodiac inflatable boat, max. 10 people in it, a bright red island and huge mountains surrounding the bay. Does sound impressive, doesn’t it? Well, add to this huge icebergs stranded in the shallow bay (well, it’s still quite deep, but shallow enough for them to strand). Because the icebergs are grounded, they are a bit more stable, so it’s safe enough to cruise in between them. It’s a really great and humbling experience to cruise between these giants.

With all the experience the expedition team had in both Polar regions, we couldn’t think of a more impressive zodiac cruise anywhere…

  1. It is an amazing contrast between the whitest ice and the red ground. Nature beauty is something indeed very special.
