Peter and Paul Cathedral

Cities at night are always a lot more interesting as during daytime. And I’m not talking about the nightlife this time, but more about the nicely lit buildings. Saint Petersburg is no exception to this. The fortress where this cathedral was built was the first part of Saint Petersburg that was built. The surrounding was just swamp, but Peter the Great wanted his new capital on this spot. So they just started to built here….

Now the tomb of Peter the Great is displayed in this cathedral…
