Lost

Iceland Gull

Sometimes birds are lost too. Or maybe they just go on a holiday and end up on a place where they normally don’t occur. Like this Iceland Gull. They breed in the Greenlandic and Canadian Arctic and winter a bit further south, sometimes as close as Scotland. This winter they show up everywhere in the Netherlands too. Most along the coast, but this one was just a 15mins bike ride away from my home. Despite being lost, he found a little that reminded him of home, the last bits of ice on the lake.
