Stars above a windmill

One thing I had in mind for quite some time, was taking pictures a picture at night showing the movement of the stars. To show this movement, you need a long exposure. However, digital sensors are not at their best during a long exposure. They get overheated and cause a lot of noise. The picture above was made by stacking 52 images with 20 seconds exposure. The advantage of this is also that the windmill isn’t overexposed.

Not a perfect picture, but I’m satisfied for my first try. I’ll definitely try again, even though waiting in the cold for 30 minutes (the time it took to take all these pictures) without something to do, isn’t the most interesting thing to do…

  1. I think that’s wonderful!

  2. So cool, I love this photo! Amazing!!

  3. Nicely setup to have the star motion appearing as though it’s heading into the face of the windmill.

  4. beautiful image
