Spitsbergen Reindeer

Last year I hoped to get some pictures of Spitsbergen Reindeer from the campsite. As there is a lot of vegetation on the campsite, there are often reindeer passing by. However last year I didn’t see any there. Today I had better luck. I was just about to take some picture of flowers (despite the strong wind) when I saw two Reindeer walking towards me. I quickly changed my macro-lens for my tele and positioned myself a little ahead of the Reindeer. I hoped they would just continue walking in the same direction, so they would have to pass me. This plan worked. They came closer and closer and  after a while they walked just at a few meters of me. This enabled me to take some nice pictures and a bit of movie. Hopefully they’ll be back some more time, so I can more footage, but I’m happy with this already.

Here only the picture as I still have to edit the movie.
