Blue-eye playing hide-and-seek

We made our trip to Germany last weekend to find Ornate and Mercury Bluet. We were half successful, with finding Ornate and missing Mercury Bluets. But sometimes you find an unexpected surprise. One of the bluets we saw had strange markings on the s2, some that I couldn’t place. After I took some pictures he took off, hiding himself behind a leaf. This picture shows how hard it can be to find those damselflies.

Later, looking at the pictures and in my ID-book, the things fell into place and it turned out to be my first Blue-eye.
