Ok, I admit. I don’t like getting up early. For people who know me, it won’t be a surprise, but I like to sleep in. Not a good character as a nature photographer as the early morning light is one of the best of the whole day. But, as you could see in this post, I do make exceptions. When the circumstances are right, I do get up early. And the good thing about this time of year is that sunrise isn’t all that early, so I can make it.
Last weekend I was with a group of friends in the Dutch Wadden Sea island of Terschelling. As the conditions were great (nice weather expected, with some fog in the morning) we decided to get up early to be in the field around sunrise. This picture was taken just after sunrise (as you can see of course). When the sun was a little higher the special moment was gone and I could continue finding some birds. But I’ve got the feeling I’m going to show you more pictures of this sunrise later…

ethereal ! i can almost smell the air
Nice composition. I like the path leading down into the mist and also toward the rising sun.
